Lou's Fuzzy Mohair Scarf

Larry is modeling Lou's fuzzy scarf. I used 2 skeins of Galaxy Yarn by Bernat. The color is "Milky Way".
I used size 10 1/2 needles.

Cast on 16 stitches. Work 4 rows in garter stitch.
Row 5: Knit wrapping yarn twice around needle in each stitch.
Row 6: Knit, dropping extra loops in each stitch.
Rows 7 and 8: Knit.
Repeat rows 5-8 until scarf is 74 inches long.
End with four rows of garter stitch.
Bind off.

The pattern that came with the yarn called for fringe. We had a big discussion at work on whether or not men like fringe on a scarf. The decision was "no fringe".

The Three Yarn Stripe

This is so easy and so wonderful looking. It's just garter stitch done with three different yarns. Start a different yarn at the end of each row. I used 2 balls of CiCi Yarn from Patons in Brazil blue, 2 balls of Moda dea Kickx in Karma, and 1 skein of Homespun from Lion Brand in Colonial.

I worked it on size 12 needles.
Cast on 18 stitches and garter stitch till the scarf is about 74 inches long, alternating the three yarns on every row.
I'm going to try this technique with a lot of different yarns.

When I finish the scarf project I want to use this technique for a vest.

Laura's Ruffled Shawl

Laura is always cold, so a scarf just wouldn't do. I made this lacy shawl for her in colors she likes. I love the ruffle. It's so simple.

The Woven Stitch Scarf

This is the woven stitch scarf I made for Julie. I used size 12 needles and one strand each of
Lion Brand Homespun yarn and
Lion Brand Incredible Yarn .

I used one skein of Homespun and two balls of Incredible. I adapted the pattern is from the book Knit Scarves! 16 Cool Patterns to Keep You Warm by Candi Jensen.

I love the pattern because it reminds me of Persian lamb. The Incredible ribbon yarn gives a little bit of sheen.

Cast on 20 stitches.
Row 1 *Knit 1, move yarn to front and slip the next stitch purlwise; move yarn back; repeat from* to end of row.
Row 2 *Purl 1, move yarn to the back and slip the next stitch purlwise, move yarn to the front; repeat from * to end of row.

Repeat rows 1 and 2 until scarf measures 70 inches.

Bind off.
