I have spent the past three years knitting birthday scarves and felted purses for each of the 72 staff members at my library. I have tried to use a different yarn, technique or stitch with each scarf. I have included patterns for the scarves on my blog. When this project is done I'll start to knit more ambitious projects.

The Very Long, Skinny Scarf
This is very long indeed. Chele is modeling it for me, but I made it for Ann. These are Ann's kind of colors.
I worked this scarf on a number 10 circular needle. I used five different yarns. The base yarn is Lion Brand's Homespun in the Mexicali color blend. I have included some fun fur, some eyelash and some mohair in the blend.
Cast on 200 stitches. Knit, Purl, Knit, Purl all the way to the end. Repeat for four rows.
Switch to another color. Knit every stitch and repeat for four rows. I used two strands together to get about the same gauge as the Homespun yarn.
Switch to the base color. Knit, Purl, Knit, Purl the whole row. Repeat for four rows.

Bind off in pattern.
